๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ฒ, ๐๐๐๐: As a part of the De-Sung National Service: Million Fruit Tree Plantation Project, the Department of Agriculture has started skilling program for 175 De-Suups on fruit orchard management starting from 24th January, 2023. The Honโble Sanam Lyonpo inaugurated the 5-day De-Suup skilling program from the Agriculture Research and Development Centre in Wengkhar.
The selected De-Suups were divided into groups and sent to different Agriculture Research and Development Centres under the Department of Agriculture for basic skilling on fruit orchard management. After the skilling program, they will be deployed in 205 gewogs along with another 234 skilled De-Suups from the first phase of the project to lead thousands of other De-Suups to implement the plantation program of the second phase of the Million Fruit Tree Plantation Project. The plantation of at least one million high value fruit crops across the country will start from 5th February, 2023 coinciding with the 7th Birth Anniversary of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck.
