Hon’ble MoAF Minister visits Samtse Dzongkhag

9-12 May, Samtse: On 9th May, 2022 en-route to Samtse, Hon’ble Minister, MoAF met with forestry officials of Gedu Forest Division at the Division Office and advised them to work toward enhancing public service delivery and serving the nation with utmost integrity and loyalty.

In the evening, Hon’ble Minister met with the members of the dredging community and sorted out various field issues such as requirement of differentiated reserved price for domestic and export markets, boundary issues, lease land for storage of dredged materials and export route issues among others.

On 10th May 2022, Hon’ble Minister graced the passing out Parade of the 49th batch of the De-suung training programme held at Tashichhoeling Wing V, Samtse. The training was availed by 209 youths who attended a three weeks long integrated training programme. Hon’ble Minister, in his keynote address highlighted the importance of upholding the principles on which the De-suung was founded and encouraged all passing out De-suups to serve Tsa-wa-sum with integrity, sincerity and loyalty at all times.

In the afternoon, Hon’ble Minister visited Milk Processing and Pickling Units at Peljorjing and interacted with members of respective cooperatives. Drawing lessons from the current COVID-19 pandemic, Hon’ble Minister encouraged cooperatives members to work hard to earn enough for themselves and contribute towards national goal of food and nutrition security and also set examples for other youths to follow suit.

Hon’ble Minister also visited several fallow land sites which the Dzongkhag Administration is planning to bring back to cultivation by engaging youth groups and contract farmers. Hon’ble Minister will be in Samtse Dzongkhag until 12th May 2022 visiting other relevant RNR sites.
