SKILLS4LIFE PROGRAM

The Ministry of Agriculture & Forests (MoAF) launched the SKILLS4LIFE PROGRAMME in line with His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo’s vision to institute Skills4Life Programme to facilitate the support staff to be resilient, flexible and adaptable for the 21st century challenges by inculcating a culture of lifelong learning through skilling, upskilling and reskilling.

Based on the training needs and areas of interest that support staff have expressed, about 21 training programmes will be conducted as part of this programme. However,  in the pilot phase the program is being rolled out to 22 GSP/ESP staff for training program in mushroom production. The training will cover shiitake mushroom production in wood logs, oyster  mushroom production in straw and visit to mushroom farms in to gain more exposure.

As part of cost cutting measures, the program is being conducted at the National Mushroom Centers, Serbithang with minimal financial implication. Furthermore, in order to ensure that normal office functions are not disrupted, the program will be conducted during the weekend from 9-5 PM.
