NEDFi Haat, Rupnagar, Guwahati, Assam: The Bhutan Product Outlet was opened at NEDFi Haat, Rupnagar, Guwahati today. It was possible with the collaboration between North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi), a Public Financial Institution of India and the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC), Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
The Objective of the Product Outlet are to:ย
- Expand market access for Bhutanese agricultural products, handicrafts, and textiles in India.
- Promote Bhutanese Products to high-end consumers and tourists in Guwahati.
- Strengthen bilateral trade ties and institutional partnerships between Bhutan and India.
The opening ceremony was attended by the General Manager of NEDFi and the Consul General of the Royal Bhutanese Consulate in Guwahati. The Director of DAMC and officials from Regional Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Office (RAMCO), Gelephu also attended.ย
The Outlet will be managed by NE-SHILP (Northeast Society for Handicraft Incubation and Livelihood Promotion), with the B-COOP Shop (Gelephu) as the designated aggregator to supply products.
As of today, 51 unique Bhutanese agri-food items, handicrafts, and textiles are available.
